Avarae Hyacinthe is a junior in the School of Arts and Sciences pursuing a degree in Computer Science. As a transfer student, she hoped to find ways to be involved on campus and was able to join the Douglass Resident College, through this experience she was able to make connections in the winter externship positions. Avarae was delighted to work at the Collaborative Center at Rutgers as a student extern and assisted in creating ePortfolio templates for Douglass College, while leading and being influenced by a group of students with their own creative work.
Through her academic and internship experiences, she shifted her career goals toward an occupation that contributes to society beyond economic progress and well-being. She hopes to work in librarian research with a connection to computer science, showing how academia and technology can help people progress toward a path that reveals and preserves the truth.
