Eric Silverman is a junior at the School of Arts and Sciences majoring in Urban Planning & Design. Sparked by his passion for environmentalism and appreciation of public space, Eric's interest in advocacy began at an early age, when he spoke at local council meetings and volunteered for political campaigns in middle and high school. During his time in college, Eric has maintained his civic involvement, serving as the President of the Rutgers University Democrats and the Chairman of the Cedar Grove Democratic County Committee.
Building on the knowledge he has gained during his academic career and his time working as an intern at the Montclair Department of Complete Streets and Topology, Eric hopes to pursue a career in public service and bridge the gap between city planning and the policy-making process to create safer, more cohesive communities.
In his free time, Eric enjoys making electoral maps, riding his mountain bike, and listening to 70s and 80s rock music.
